About

I’m Sarah, a librarian living in Ottawa, Ontario. I love to explore the city on my bike but need to mix it up a little, so this summer I’m branching out with a new project: I’m attempting to ride my bike from my home near the Central Experimental Farm to each Ottawa Public Library location. That’s 33 libraries (not including the bookmobile!), ranging from just 2 km away at my home branch of Emerald Plaza to over 50 km in the case of Fitzroy Harbour.

As a motivator, I’m also donating 50¢ per km to Twice Upon a Time / Il était deux fois, a local volunteer run organization that gives free books to children, promoting literacy and bringing a love of reading to their homes.

I’m Jane, a librarian for life, living in Ottawa. In June 2020 I should have been in France on a bike and barge tour from Epernay to Paris but COVID-19 put paid to that so, like Sarah, I needed to mix it up a bit here in Ottawa. I am riding my bike to as many of the OPL branches as I can from my home in the Golden Triangle.

As an added motivator for Sarah I will match her donation to Twice Upon A Time when she completes her tour.
